In spite of peppering his speech with lots of self-effacing phrases and the regular use of 'sucks', 'shit' and 'crap', Andy Murphy is generally a positive dude with a keen eye and dexterity when it comes to creating stuff. While by no means limited to this, the springboard for the majority of his current work is the skateboarding world; its peoples, practices and antics all a major force in Andy's motivations for his artworks.

"SALUTE" the Masters Comp on Anzac Day was a tribute to the older riders within skateboarding and honored those skateboarders no longer with us. It is important that as a culture we spend some time looking back and remembering those who came before us that created the fantastic lifestyle we all benefit from today.

In Vans Sk8: Pool Service, players ride as one of Vans’ sponsored skaters, Bucky Lasek or Omar Hassan, hitting the abandoned rec center pool and competing in one of ten different events. The game features customizable boards and wheels, unlockable tricks, and rich 3D gameplay making full use of the iPhone’s accelerometer and multi-touch functions.

It's been talked about for many years and now is finally coming to life. Vans will release its first-ever book this June, featuring 20-some-odd stories that collectively tell the story of the brand: from Rowley to Warped Tour, from Customs to Joel Tudor, from Alva and Cab to artist collabs.
